03A closer look at the program.
Select the route that fits your day
Tokyo options range from the focused 60-minute Akihabara–Asakusa course to 90-minute Shibuya–Shinjuku and 120-minute Shibuya–Tokyo Tower or Asakusa–Tokyo Bay routes. An approximately 90-minute Osaka Castle course is also listed. Route availability varies by branch and date.
Prepare the correct driving documents
Most international drivers need their original passport, physical home-country license, and a physical International Driving Permit issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention. Eligible license holders from designated countries instead need the original license and an authorized Japanese translation.
Drive as part of a managed group
After the document check and safety briefing, participants follow the guide through normal city traffic. Staff support vehicles accompany the group, photographs are taken when safe, and the operator may modify or cancel a route because of weather, congestion, road controls, or safety concerns.
04How the experience unfolds.
Document check and briefing
Arrive early with every required original driving document. Staff confirm eligibility, explain the controls, review traffic rules, and conduct a safety briefing before departure.
Choose your city route
Tour lengths and landmarks vary. Options typically range from a focused 60-minute Akihabara–Asakusa ride to 90- or 120-minute routes through major Tokyo districts, with an Osaka route also available.
Follow the guide
The group travels in real city traffic behind trained staff. Support vehicles accompany the tour, and the route may be adjusted for congestion, weather, road restrictions, or safety.
Photos and return
Staff capture photographs during the experience when conditions permit. The tour finishes at the same operating branch unless otherwise confirmed.

06Good to know
- Most overseas drivers must bring the original hard copies of a valid home-country driver’s license, a 1949 Geneva Convention International Driving Permit, and a passport.
- Drivers licensed in Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, or Monaco generally require an authorized Japanese translation instead of an IDP; requirements must be verified before booking.
- Japan does not accept IDPs issued under the 1968 Vienna Convention or unofficial online permits.
- This is public-road driving, not a closed track. Participants must follow Japanese traffic law and all staff instructions.
